SENTENCE ANALYSIS AND GAT ANALYZED READING
In this quarter, we learnt to analyze the sentences by their compositions. We learn to break the sentences into each part of speech including noun, pronoun, adjective, adverb, verb, preposition, and conjunction. A sentence should composed of at least a subject (noun) and a verb. However, sometimes the sentences become more advance. The sentence would be more complex when other part of speech besides a noun and a verb is added to make the sentence. Therefore, learning how to analyze the sentence would make us being able to check for the grammar errors of any sentence, or even being helpful to correct our grammar mistakes when writing sentences.
For GAT analyzed reading activity, we have learnt how to analyze and summarize the main idea of the paragraph by connecting the key terms or key phrases by their relations to others. There are three types of relations between key terms or phrases including causes and effects, details, and solutions. As we are given a long paragraph, our job is to be able to find the connections between the key terms as well as identify the type of how the two terms or phrases relate to each other. These two activities that we have learnt in this quarter is really useful in our understanding on languages. The sentence analysis unit helps us write the sentences in a well corrected grammar. The correct grammar would be really useful in writing paragraphs, thesis, research, or personal statement. Also, it is useful in tests writing test such as Ielts or Toefl as well. Besides the benefits getting from sentence analysis unit, the GAT analyzed reading unit is really helpful in reading. It would enable us to find the coherence of the ideas in the paragraph. This would be useful in finding main ideas reading which could be used in the reading tests such as Ielts or SAT. eslosThe Eslos related to this activities is being a strategic learners as it helps us develop our learning on how to learn without wasting time. Being able to follow the instructions given in these two units would be able to understand the sentences or paragraphs without using too much time unnecessarily.
