Egg drop experiment

In this unit, we learned to design the models to achieve the purpose of our project. This unit requires the application of many physics laws such as newton's laws, impulse, momentum, etc.
The egg drop project requires the knowledge of impulse and air drag. Our design using balloons helps decrease the final velocity which also reduce the impulse when the eggs hit the floor. The balloons act like the parachute which increase the surface of the object against the air resistance cancelling the gravitational force. |
Hourglass project
According to the project, we had to find the way to make an hourglass that last for a day. The challenge is that no-one had made it before. We have to find the materials that we are going to use to fill the hourglass. Also, we would have to design the shape of the hourglass, the amount of the fill, the size of the hole, and the pressure inside the hourglass.
